Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, better called Ari Lennox, is an American singer and musician who hails from Washington, D.C., who was the first female to sign with J. Cole's Dreamville Records record label. She released her first EP for the label on Oct. 21st, 2016, titled Pho. This is when she began gaining notoriety. Shea Butter Baby, her debut album, was released on 7 May 2019. Ari Lennox uploaded her music to the internet in 2012 after she released her Five Finger Discount mixtape and Ariography EP in 2013. The year 2014 saw her release more music via the Internet including Bound. In the year 2015, she performed in Omen's Elephant Eyes Album, which came out on the 21st July. it out on 21st July. J. Cole asked her to collaborate with him for Rihanna's references. Then, later in the season, the music was played throughout Dreamville. She officially was signed by Dreamville Records on 8 December. Backseat was a track was written by her and Cozz on the album collaboratively titled Revenge of the Dreamers II. In October 21st, 2016 the debut EP of Ari Lennox was released, titled Pho. Ari Lennox was a guest on J. Cole's Change and also performed in The 4 Your Eyez Only Tour as the opening performance. She also appeared in two tracks, including the EarthGang's Nothing but the Best song as well as Bas's Icarus. Ari Lennox, on the 16th July, 2018, released her first single "Whipped Cream" from Shea Butter Baby. The music video for it was also released on September 5th. Then, in November, she released her singles forty Shades of Choke & Grampa. In November, 13, she released two additional singles entitled No One as well as Pdigree. Shea Butter Baby was released on her debut single, the 26th of February, 2019, for her album Creed II. Shea Butter Baby appeared with Cole in the Creed II sound track on November 16. A music video debuted 20 February 2019 in order to go along with the track. Within the first period of a week, the video had more than 3 million views. In December 2018 she performed on her From East Atlanta With Love Tour, which featured 6LACK.
